Relaxation with the Playshop concept

My Playshop concept focuses on playful exploration of your own body. I provide suggestions, encouragement, and support, guiding you into a pleasant state of relaxation—with either more activity or more rest, depending on the program. Aside from that, you can also (further) develop your physical and dance skills in a harmonious and relaxed way.

Clothing information

For all playshops, we recommend movement-friendly clothing and shoes with thin soles, bare feet, or non-slip socks to ensure good contact with the floor and your body.

Topics

  • Connection

Dancing with others can be like a shared conversation. How we express ourselves determines how the conversation flows. This playshop is aimed at curious dancers of all levels. It doesn't teach a specific dance, but rather explores the topics of connection, leading, and following. Awareness of the principles of leading and following can be expanded through dance-based exercises. Dancing with others offers an intensive experience of nonverbal communication. The goal is to be able to make shared dancing a pleasant experience. Furthermore, interpersonal connection as well as aspects of responsibility and trust are experienced and practiced.

  • Grounding

All dance usually begins on the floor, yet its potential is often literally overlooked. However, conscious awareness of the floor can also be used as a source of inspiration, security, and poise. In this playshop, we will use creative and movement-educational methods to connect with this often underestimated dance partner while sitting, lying, and standing. No previous experience is necessary. Even experienced dancers can enrich their repertoire here.

  • DanceMeditation

When everyday life has a tight grip on us, conscious movement to music can offer a simple resource for relaxation. Your body will receive various movement inspirations in which your physical and emotional needs can be experienced and respected. In an open setting without pressure to perform, we immerse ourselves in what is presenting itself in the moment. Mindful movement of the body—both individually and in a group—enables a connection to one's own body and the group.

  • Walking Meditation

In walking meditation, we are accompanied by natural rhythms and sounds rather than music. The focus is on mindful awareness of the physical structures and processes involved in natural walking. Breathing, the skeleton, muscles, and tendons are consciously felt in their harmonious interplay. In addition to looking inward, I offer various perception exercises that allow us to gain a more alert approach to our passing surroundings.
